Catchar.io

If you are following the latest tech news, you would see that Augmented and Mixed Reality is becoming more and more popular, according to G2.com. Lots of big brands and companies have started delivering both technologies to their customers. At the same time, individual developers and small startups are working on their own AR / MR products and projects.

So, we have prepared a review of one interesting project, in case you have decided to jump into Augmented and Mixed Reality spaces.

We had an interview with Dan Zaitsev – an entrepreneur, founder and marker of series startups. Dan has over 7 years of experience in building Augmented Reality startups, products and projects. He started his AR journey from building apps for Google Glass. Then, he had been involved as a product marketing manager in Looksery startup that was later acquired by Snap inc. for more than $150M. From 2015 to 2018, Dan acted as CEO and co-founder of Augmented Reality startup, named ROAR.

In the fall 2018, Dan presented his new website based side-projects named Catchar.io. Currently, Catchar helps users and companies to find, promote and discover the best Augmented and MIxed Reality apps, lenses and campaigns. His side-project already contains more than 300 submitted XR projects, and it represents numbers of different XR categories such as apps and projects for iPhone, Android, Magic Leap and Microsoft HoloLens. In addition, you will find here sponsored and self-made AR campaigns, lenses and filters for Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram.

However, Dan says that he has more ambition plans as for Catchar, and currently he’s working on the 2.0 version. His main goal is to build the world’s largest XR community and knowledge base. As a result, Catchar will help AR & MR developers to share their knowledge, get answers to different questions and support young and talented Augmented Reality creators. All those points will help to grow and scale Augmented and Mixed Reality verticals.

In addition, Dan has mentioned that you wouldn’t find a better time to jump into Augmented and Mixed Reality spaces as now. Since AR and MR are pretty young but growing fast you could think about how to leverage these technologies into your business or daily life. There are tons of examples of how Augmented Reality can help you to attract new customers, increase sales or improve the performance of your co-workers.

Conclusion

Don’t miss your chance to start using and building AR and MR apps, lenses and campaigns. Some of them are reaching thousands and millions of views and downloads. As a result, it can be a very viral add-on to your existing product, brand or business. Catchar would be a nice place for you to discover the best AR examples and experiences. In addition, this project would definitely help you to start learning more about these technologies and build something on your own. Someday, both these technologies will totally replace our smartphones, desktops and laptops. So, get ready
