In this day and age, it can be all to easy to ignore housework and general household chores. This is why we thought we’d create our very own article on Spring Cleaning, with the help of the experts at Ruby Cleaners, to ensure that when you do clean your home, you do it in a way that is effective.
1. Kick Off by Discarding
I am sure you will have plenty of unwanted paper copies of every bank account statement, utility bill, and receipt in your home. With the advent of cloud computing and email, it is usually not necessary to have these paper copies. So, make sure you shred these documents and recycle. This is a great way to start off your spring clean.
2. Empty Your Bag
Another tip we would recommend is it to take a few minutes and empty your bag each day. This will reduce clutter when it comes to removing items. This is also a great way to start the next day with a clean uncluttered bag, and reduce the likelihood of you losing items and forgetting where you put them.
3. Go Through Your Mail
More often than not mail that we receive is junk mail, and we often have it lying around. Recycle it right away, making sure any personal information is destroyed. If there are important pieces of mail, make sure they are stored in a safe place for you to deal with them later on in the day. For items you want to keep, make sure you file these away so you don’t lose them to allow you to use them at a future date.
4. Create a Place for Everything
If you put the same item in the same place each time, it will reduce the likelihood of you losing that item, and it will also make your home cleaner. If you don’t do this, items end up in random places of your home and you will not know where to put them.
5. Declutter Your Life
By Spring Cleaning, you will quickly know what is precious to you and identify what items you don’t need. This will also help with your mood and mental health, as you don’t want to be overburdened with items that you no longer need or have any use for.
